The design approach was to integrate the panels into the roof, also following a prescription from the State Superintendence, as the lot in question is subject to landscape authorization.

The dark color of the photovoltaic panel suite well with the materials present in the project. The Dome building is characterized by a system of façades elements composed of custom-made aluminum panels and a system of wooden brise soleil that wrap around the entire building.

The energy produced by the PV system goes to the national electricity system.

The roof has standing seam sheet metal panels (Perfect Evolution 478 UNIMETAL type) as the last layer. The use of a clamp (Perfect Univers), which is anchored at the point where the sheets join each other, has allowed the anchoring of a steel box frame where the photovoltaic panels have been positioned in a slot prepared between the wooden planks. The photovoltaic panels are spaced about 15 cm from the sheet metal roof to facilitate the flowing of air. The cables pass through a shaft placed in the substructure of the aluminum façade and in the portion of the base with concrete block infill.

The present project represents an evolution of the project submitted for the application for the building permit, which had a roof completely covered with photovoltaic tiles. The rationalize and optimization of the system design has summarized the energy needs in portion of the roof.
